Tenby's town walls are among the best-preserved urban defences in Britain. The Earls of Pembroke raised them in the 13th century; Jasper Tudor had them thickened in 1457.
The showpiece is the West Gate barbican — the Five Arches. Walk the outside face along South Parade, then slip through into the old town.
Practical tips
- Best light on the outer face in late afternoon.
- Fifteen minutes from Five Arches to the cliff towers.
Tudor Merchant's House
